Head Distiller
Why did you want to work for Dry Land?
I was offered to work for Dry Land by Nels. The inspiration and passion that Nels had involved not only in the spirits but sustainability, community, ethical practices and all around love for the industry inspired me to want to be a part of such an amazing team.
If you had "one perfect day" what would that be/what would it look like?
Just traveling the world with my family and seeing and learning about different parts of the world.
What is your all time favorite dish/food?
A rare cooked filet mignon, loaded twice baked potato with a side salad
What Dry Land spirit best matches your personality and why?
Antero wheat probably would match my personality best. I am almost always within 30 miles of the distillery. I can be a little spicy, and smoothe around the edges.
What do you want people to know about you that is unique or surprising?
I saved a man who was gored by a moose and received a sheriff's star for those actions.
If you could share a drink with anyone - living or historical - who would it be and what would you serve them?
I would share a drink with my father who has passed and I would serve him our rye whiskey neat
What's your go to song when setting up the bar and creating the vibe before shift?
You will always find me jamming out to some Alternative 90's, or metal music. Pending my mood for the day :)
Which part of the distillation, spirits history, or cocktail culture do you nerd out about most?
I tend to talk about the "production of alcohol" the most. I love talking through the different processes to make spirits.
Describe Dry Land in three words:
Family, Ethics, Respect
What's your go-to Dry Land cocktail and why?
This would depend on the season, Winter = Manhattan, Spring = Old fashioned, summer = High ball, and fall = sazerac
